Public Service Mobile Application
Kamko is a public-interest digital project and public service mobile application developed to support everyday digital and civic needs in Nepal through centralized access to verified information, service guidance, and essential digital utilities. The project was initiated and is led by Roshan Shrestha and was released on 23 February 2025.
The application is designed as a long-term public resource rather than a commercial product, with an emphasis on accuracy, usability, and accessibility for a broad range of users, including students, migrant workers, journalists, researchers, and the general public.
Nepal’s increasing dependence on digital platforms has expanded access to information while also creating challenges related to fragmentation, misinformation, and complex online procedures. Kamko was developed to address these issues by consolidating commonly used public-interest information and tools into a single, structured platform.
The scope of the application includes offline-accessible references, step-by-step guidance, and verified external links intended to reduce reliance on informal or unverified sources.
Kamko provides access to a range of public-oriented services covering daily-use utilities, digital guidance, and reference information. A significant portion of these services can be accessed fully or partially offline.
Kamko operates as a non-commercial application. It does not display advertisements, does not require subscriptions, and does not promote political or commercial interests.
The project is sustained through voluntary public donations used to support infrastructure, maintenance, and long-term service continuity.
The application is maintained as a long-term public-interest initiative. Updates and feature additions are guided by public relevance, verified references, and practical usability rather than engagement-driven metrics.
Kamko is available free of charge on Android and iOS platforms.
Kamko is documented on an independent public-knowledge platform for reference and verification.
